Hall Happenings – May 2026

As there is quite a lot happening at the Halls at present which will continue over the next few weeks, we’re happy to provide this update for you all. Wherever possible we have contracted our local talented tradespeople.

Foyer Upgrade

Grant Cameron (Pro-Surface) has been working hard plastering and painting the foyer cladding. This area already looks so much bigger and brighter. Grant has also plastered and painted to the wall near the Small Hall kitchen, as well as painted the two entrance walls on each side of the storeroom/toilet hallway, which were slightly damaged earlier this year.
Grant is stripping back the green paint on the swing doors to the Large Hall.
We know this has meant some dusty spots – extra cleaning has been arranged.

Small Hall Front

Richard (Ava Building and Carpentry) has advised the scaffolding is booked for Monday May 25. Weather permitting, he will complete this work in a couple of days, unless he finds further rotten boards behind the front barge boards. To complete this work, scaffolding has to be erected but this should not impact any of you or your Group Attendees.

Green Waste Driveway Fencing

Our fence contractor, Jason has advised he has started building the fence sections off-site and, weather permitting, plans to remove the old posts and concrete in the new posts starting on Tuesday, May 26. Jason will bring some hazmesh to block off the back of the Hall from the deck to the Omokoroa Artist’s shed.

Coat Hooks

These have now been purchased and will be installed shortly along the walls of the door entrances in the Large and Small Halls.
