We are so fortunate to have people in our local Community who attended the Omokoroa Number 2 School which was in the Small Hall. Children attended this school from 1929 until 1959, when the new Ōmokoroa Point School in Hamurana Road was constructed and the school pupils relocated. Some of the children’s names in this photo have been provided – we would be grateful if any more names are forthcoming.

Hard to imagine that the end of 2026 is looming, it has been another busy month for your OSH Committee:
A team from our OSH “Friends” group removed all the old foyer carpet ready for Flooring Xtra to lay new tiles – this combined with our photo montage will make our foyer a really interesting and welcoming space.
Jason Moller and his team have finished our concrete slab and it is now ready for one of our two Streetscape benches to be installed. This area has been levelled and is ready for landscaping – a perfect sunny spot to enjoy a cuppa. The other bench will be installed on the deck, between the Small Hall kitchen window and the exterior door. Both seats will have plaques inserted into them, acknowledging The Ōmokoroa Centre Trust for their generous support.
Some of the landscaping preparatory work has been completed and as soon as our weather improves – we will move into “full landscape mode”.
As you will see – there is a lot happening and we would be very appreciative of some extra hands to help – if you are interested in being an OSH “Friend” or Committee Member please:
