Another busy month has flown by and with all the wet weather we have had, we are all looking forward to Spring.
Two members of our OSH “Friends” team have finished the demolition of the old concrete path at the back of the Small Hall and behind our new deck. This work proved to be a tough job as the old concrete was 8” to 10” thick in places – they certainly made concrete solid and built to last back then!
The team from Western Bay Air Conditioning have installed protective cages around all five of our exterior condenser units; all of our heat pumps have also had their annual clean and service, with new insulation placed in the exterior condenser units.
Graham from GG Electrical has replaced several spotlights and upgraded one floodlight to an LED one, on the car park side of the Large Hall. New solar lights have been placed above the new main entrance railing, as well as the Large Hall Fire Exit door.
Three Pohutukawa shrubs (Metrosideros “Tahiti”) will be planted along the front of the Large Hall, these are extremely hardy, compact and colourful plants (we hope to be able to get planting as soon as our weather warms up).
In keeping with tradition which started nearly 30 years ago, the Omokoroa Artists Exhibition will return to the Omokoroa Settlers Hall for their annual Art Expo over Labour Weekend – this is an extremely popular and successful event that attracts visitors from all over New Zealand to our slice of paradise.
