Defibrillator Training Course

In conjunction with OSRC, OSH was pleased to arrange a Defibrillator Training Course on Thursday, July 16.

The presenter is a paramedic trainer who covered:

  • How to operate the defibrillator safely and effectively
  • Recognizing signs of cardiac arrest
  • Basic life support techniques

The session was well attended and received with very positive feedback. It is important to know how to help a person in an emergency situation. OSH having its own defibrillator was made possible with the generous support we received from the Omokoroa Lions Club. Note: the OSH defibrillator has to date never been used – and – we sincerely hope it stays this way!

Current Projects

Current projects underway are:

  • finalising a supplier for heat our pump compressor cages (a necessary safety as well as anti-theft protection)
  • new foyer carpet (the tiles chosen are going to make a big difference to this area)
  • new concrete slab (for a new bench with sincere thanks to The Centre)
  • solar lights to be fitted along the Large Hall kitchen entrance ramp
  • a load of top soil in Spring for our landscaping project. The topsoil has been kindly donated by Gammons Landscape and Gardening Supplies – a long-standing local business with deep roots in our local Community.
