Ōmokoroa Songsters

Ōmokoroa Songsters started in 2013 out of a wish to have somewhere to sing for fun.

Richard Francis and Heather Reynolds put out the word and the rest – as they say – is history. Now with fellow guitarist Keith Edwards and bassist Grant Willis, the group meets in the Small Hall on Thursdays (term-time) from 7.00 PM until 8.30 PM for a musical workout.

The repertoire is wide – anything from Cornish folk songs to show tunes, modern classics, with a mix of rock ‘n’ roll, 60’s pop and big ballads to add spice to the mix.

Pre-COVID there were up to 40 “regulars” – that number is slowly rebuilding now that restrictions have been removed.

Men and women very welcome.

So if you fancy a sing-song (don’t say you can’t sing because everyone can sing if they have the right song) – come along and give it a go. $2 a head helps to cover Hire costs and we have a social event once a term.
